ok everyone! sorry its been a while.
so i think i left you in Hanoi to get on a train.
the train turned out to be fine and was just another part of mine and daves little adventure! it was two days. got on in the evening and at about midnight crossed the border into china. we were then woken up for the next few hours with various forms and things to fill in and give people. got talking to the irish people in the next cabin and we decided to have a Vodka Train. sounds better than it was. i ended up playing cards and reading my book. nothing eventful happened for the whole train journey, however whilst still in Vietnam, a rock came sailing through our window. V SCARY! everything and everyone was covered in glass. argh! its ok - no one was hurt tho so its ok.
ok so arrived in Beijing and didnt have clue where to go! our hotel was nice but apperance was better than it actually was if you get me. so walked about for a bit. didnt find much AT ALL. its all offices and stuff which was kinda weird to say the least. next day slighlty more lucky and found a street with shops. so bummed about there.met our group tonight ( the 28th.) theyre all very different and i think we are the youngest. there are 3 Kiwis, a couple from Oz, 2 Americans, 3 Irish and us. our leader is lovely.
next day we went to the Great Wall of China. it was nice and pretty cool but soooo toursity which was a shame. me and Dave climbed a dead steep bit to get to the highest point fora while and the view was ace. i was knackered tho! glad i did it.
you needed to get a cable car up onto the wall and you got to Tobboggan back down which was ace. although the ppl in front of me were slow so i had to keep stopping!
had a peking duck dinner. also good.
went to see a Kung Fu show which was WICKED. i loved it. i want to be a Shaolin Monk!
got the night train across to Xi'An. Thats where i am now but i shall tell you mroe later. until next time. :)
