Hello J and S
Nearly at the end of your south American tour. Hasn't it been fantastic. Hope Stuart has recovered from the bug, ghastly at the best of times but in the heat twice as bad. We are off to Cyprus on5th March until 2nd may. Nicola and Matthew will be out for Easter. Simon is of f to Peru to see a girl he met over the net. Will speak to you from New Zealand. Enjoy the respite before you set off to the Far East. Love mum.

Just sitting here at work with 3 week backlog to catch up on and dreaming of Venezuela so, rather than actually do anything, just logged on to your site to see how you're getting on. Couldn't believe that you were also robbed in exactly the same place as the Norwegian girls. Must have been horrible but glad you're ok and he didn't get away with much. Have been looking at the Angel Falls and Catatumba pics but no time for the rest as yet as should really do some work I suppose. It was great meeting you both and we had great fun on the 2 trips we did with you. Will revisit your site when have more time. Happy travelling.

Interested to read your comments on Chavez - as we don't read the Daily Lies, we're quite sure he's one of the 'good guys'! Trust that rotten gunman didn't get away with your journal - hope you're keeping one and looking forward to reading it when it's published (quite happy to proof read!).
Best wishes and safe travelling,
Hilary & Malcolm

Hi there. Ethne called today and told me about the robbery and that the print had gone very small. Well, all I can get of your Angel Falls account is the first sentence so I only know what Ethne told me, the rest is blank, not even very small print! A nasty experience for you both. I guess we should be thankful in that with all the miles you have travelled, something unpleasant hasn't happened before. Your Venezuela trip has certainly given you a variety of experiences judging from your account. Your bus journeys have put me off doing a trip like yours, my bottom would not survive! However, Malcolm and I have our own stress event this week as we move house from Bristol to Uppingham in Rutland (no, we haven't joined The Rutles). Perhaps I could write a blog for you to read! No, perhaps not. There is no cable in Uppingham so you will not be hearing from me for a while, but I will be thinking of you and hoping that all will go well with you both. Love from Anne.( PS Stuart, I hope you have already got your tickets for the Test in November as there aren't many available. Also, the England cricket team were honoured by HM yesterday, they all got MBE's except the coach and Captain who received MBE's). Have a happy Valentine's Day!

Wow what a fabulous trip to the Falls lovely photos.makes up for the humidity and the long boat trip. we were most concerned about the robbery, sounds like a real amateur fortunately,as long as you are bothokay. Weather still very cold, lots of frosts. Unfortunately the print of your text has gone really small and difficult to read,I wonder why as the photos and the rest of the words are fine. Hope you got my messages and that your phones are working. What a fabulous journey you have had through South America. It makes such interesting reading. Heres hoping all will be well from now on. Lotsa love Mum and Dad.

Edmund and I spent some time last evening looking through your photos and 'wowing' at the Galapagos ones. How amazing to be so close to 'wild life' and to find them not at all wild! Yes, I'm really envious of that particular trip but not the tummy-upset-inducing ones or the ghastly bus journeys! It would be good to hear the woman's perspective on some of the 'features' of 3rd world travel! What did you thnk of the ruins of the Inca civilisation? Did you get a feeling for them? What tremendous confidence to build such a place IN such a place, the view down to the valley was breath-taking; how did they do it, slaves I suppose. I have a feeling there are 4 days unaccounted for Dec24 -Dec 28. Were you journeying then or is it a mis-print? I imagine you have flown from south to north? What a country! deserts, mountains, rainforests, beaches, it seems to have it all. Nice to see you smiling broadly in the photos, Stuart, and glad to know that you are better now, Jo. Love from Anne and Malcolm.

Getting a few bits done towards the house.Mum has had the Carpal Tunnel op. on her right hand, which went very well.Cant do much though.Keep sending the updates, great viewing. Love from mum and dad

Hi Stuart and Jo. You have been taking some amazing photos, both very proficient photographers. Especially loved the pics of the Galapagos Islands, what an interesting and well preserved place to visit. The water looked as though it would be warm, didn't like the look of your shark Jo, no wonder you had a fright! We are back from our week in Mt Maunganui and had amazing weather. Looking forward to your next tour of photos. Love Mum and Dad.

Happy New Year to you both! Looks and sounds like your trip is going well. Keep the updates coming. Back here in London this weekend saw several Otters take the plunge in the Cold Water Swimming Championships held in Tooting Bec Lido. Brrrr. Bet you are glad to have missed that one!
