Whitneys on Tour
We arrived here on the 7th after our delayed flight from Santiago and stayed untill the 15th at Jo's parents.
This wasn't a period to do touristy things. This was a time to enjoy the luxury of 1st world living again, to be able to use clean and spacious toilets and showers, to sit back and relax in front of a huge TV screen and watch English speaking programmes and sport and to lap up Jo's mum's gourmet standard cooking.
We weren't entirely unproductive, indeed Stuart had some interesting and highly promising meetings regarding work opportunities for when we get back. His dream of working for himself and getting away from the corporate world with the accompanying bosses from hell is very much alive.
With India our next stop we also spent time and considerable money getting ourself prepared for potential illness mishap there. We've invested in a new wonder drug which was initially developed as a cure for Cholera but has turned out to be a travellers godsend in that it prevents general food related stomach problems too. Time will tell if it will work but if it does it will have been much money well spent.
We left Auckland bound for Mumbai via Bangkok looking forward to the next stage of our travels but part of us didn't want to leave. Jo for reasons of being able to see her family again and Stuart has he's really looking forward to getting his teeth into things career wise again under new and hopefully considerably improved circumstances. Still, we can look forward to all that again in August.
