After our second spell in Sydney came to end which pretty much consisted of sneaking into the good old home backpackers for a free shower and a 40 minute walk from where we parked the car to get Jo some banana cake she had fallen in love with a week earlier we continued on our journey with a short drive to Bondi Beach….. it was extremely busy with practically nowhere to park and even less room to put your towel down on the beach so after taking a good look round and snapping a few pictures on the pap camera (Jo obviously… I’m not allowed to handle the fancy camera) we set off towards the Blue Mountains National Park.
About 120km west of Sydney is Glenbrook, the gateway to the Blue Mountains…. this is where we picked a nice little spot near the woods to cook dinner and spend the night. An early morning drive to Katoomba was the perfect way to wake up as when we arrived at Echo point we were simply blown away by the views, simply breathtaking!! We took a short walk to some of the other viewing platforms before lunch in the park and the Katoomba waterfalls walk in the afternoon provided even more amazing scenery!
After spending the night at Echo point we took the short drive to Wentworth Falls for another day of beautiful walks, this was equally stunning but totally different as it led us through gorgeous rainforests, past lovely waterfalls and onto the ledge of a cliff looking out over the top of the national park….. this was a secluded spot where we decided to have our picnic lunch before heading back to the camper for our next part of the journey.
We would definitely recommend people visit this place!
