We arrived in Noosa on the 3rd December - another small beach town on the East coast. From here we visited Australia Zoo where Jo got to fulfil an ambition of holding a Koala. They are a lot smellier than you'd expect but she loved it anyway. We saw one of the shows at the crocoseum, which was good but nowhere near as entertaining as it would have been with Steve Irwin dangling his children over the crocodiles! We also got to feed an elephant and see tigers playing with the keepers (no Malaysian cleaners were eaten this time).
That night we got all dressed up and went to a bar in town where one of our room mates was working. He'd failed to mention that 2 beers would cost us $20 so our night out amounted to about half an hour. That was the first point on our trip where we have fully realised how lucky we were back home to be able to go to nice bars and restaurants without having to count out our pennies! We're also both looking forward to going into a supermarket and not choosing a can of beans purely because it's 7 cents cheaper than the ones we want!
Noosa is an extremely nice town but perhaps a little too tempting for us with it's trendy bars and clubs being a little too expensive for us backpacker types! We'll come back one day with money!
