The trip to DC has been fun. The conference itself has been really interesting and I've talked to some really great people. I've learned so much and can apply some of what I've discovered to my work at the library.
There was some time for sightseeing. Not much, but enough to get to the Mall and walk around a bit. I went to the National Archives and was awed by the fact that I was actually standing there looking at the original Constitution and Declaration of Independence. It was quite a moving moment for me to be in the presence of that much history. I also walked through the Museum of Art Sculpture Garden. The spider looking thing was the most disturbing sculpture that I think I've ever seen. The house sculpture was really interesting. But my favorite sculpture was the Thinker rabbit.
