Day 8
Today was the first day of classes for me. I had European Politics, Senior Seminar and then Moral Philosophy. It was a pretty standaard first day of introducing yourself to the professor and getting the sylabus. European politics started at 8:30 in the morning and our professor seemed pretty cool. We were let out really early because we had not prepared anything to learn about.
After this class we found a nice backery and had a coffee there. We walked around the old city before heading over to our next class, Senior Seminar. This class was more in depth because we discussed our homework that was given to us for over the summer. After that class we all became really hungry so we went back for lunch.
After lunch we had to go to our last class of the day, Moral Philosophy. This was a really cool class with a very nice professor. He first explained the Dom to us and its historical significance. After that we went over the general goals of the class and learned about Kant's views of philosophy. It was really interesting.
After the class a small group of us found a nice green area to pay frisbee on. It was a lot of fun, especially because it was a beautiful day. People were running outside and having a great time. I was amazed at how well behaved the dogs are here.
Later that night some of us decided to go to the Mirabellplatz and see the lights. One thing we overlooked was whether there would be lights or not. We figured that there would be some sort of lighting on the statues, but that was not the case. It was cool though because we could see the Festung all lit up and the fountain was blue too. We also got a great idea there because we saw some people coming out of a concert. Apparently there are concerts there every night. We decided that we had to go to one of them. We also saw a sign there for getting into a football game for free on saturday. It was a mutual agreement that we had to go to that event too.
Day 9
Today we would have had European Politics, but it was canceled. This meant only one class for the day, german. We went to the class and it was really boring and way to easy for me. After the class though, we went back to Mirabellgarden and saw the beautiful flowers and statues in the light. It was spectacular. We also ran across a little square full of statues of trolls or dwarfs that looked really funny. We got a lot of pictures with these because they looked so funny.
That night I decided to go for a run down the river. I did not make it very far because I was so hungry. When I got back, I made a huge dinner of noodles meat and cheese. After dinner we just chilled out and talked. It was a lot of fun.
