Up early, toast and off to build sandcastles at the beach 200 metres from the resort. Liam loves to ferry sand and build castles, Catie loves to throw mud at them, push them over or sit on them. This makes for a turbulent time where it's funny for a while, then very confrontational.
Togs full of sand and mud we packed up the buckets and headed back to the resort pool for a relaxing dip and play.
After lunch and books, naps and 'Blinky Bill' on the iPad it was back to the pool. We attempted many games all abandoned when Liam couldn't win or remember the rules.
Back to the room, a shower then a wall through the marina market before we went to the feeding of a big grumpy fish off a pier in a restaurant/bar. Every afternoon at 5pm this big old fish swims put from the pier and gets fed by the restaurant much to the pleasure of the 100 people who've shown up to absorb the spectacle. I am a school teacher and the number and depth and intensity of the children trying to get a good look made me uncomfortable, that should tell you something loud and clear.
Dinner was a selection of mussels, gyoza and garlic bread followed by a whole deep fried reef fish cooked Thai style. Dinner was so good we've booked the same place for next Thursday night.
Home for cuddles, milk and another magic show. Out to the 'Great Barrier Reef' tomorrow.!
