Hi everyone I have now left Cairns and have now moved on to Townsville in the search for the endangered species known as a job (Cairns was full of too many backpackers and Townsville is now a lot quieter!).
Spent my last couple of days in Cairns just chilling out and checking out some of the local inner city life. On Sunday ended up visiting a church in Cairns for something a little different. The actual service they had was quite similar to the ones we have at Jireh and was enjoyable. After the service a few of the guys from there invited me out to Nando's for a meal which was nice (Nando's is still as awesome in Oz as it is in Australia). Also proceeded to go to a few open mic nights in Cairns as well (you probably guessed before me writing this that yes I did get up to sing a few songs) and it was amazingly chilled and laid back like everything else over here.
On Tuesday me and my friend John got the Greyhound coach down to Townsville with me to look for work. Took about six hours to reach Townsville and it really sinks in how much a big country Oz is but it was nice going through Tully and Innsbruck which are sites not many backpackers get to see. Went sightseeing round Townsville today and the beaches are amazing with them overlooking the WhitSundays which are a group of islands with a lot of amazing wildlife. Met up with one of John's friends who works in Townsville and he is going to show us the sites on Monday. Also the job hunt is going round and there seem to be a general need for jobs out here. Anyway will keep you posted on the job front and will hopefully post some more pics soon. Take care everyone!!
