Hi all, sorry for the delay on my first blog, I have been awfully busy here! Ok so where do I start.....minus the delay at heathrow airport and the fact that I missed my connecting flight in Chicago and having no way of contacting anyone at home or in the US due to not being able to purchase a sim card the journey over here was fairly smooth! When I arrived I instantly knew this year was going to be interesting... Nebraska is well.. Different to other places iv been to in the US, Lincoln is a small cute little city not all that overwhelming and scary! People here in the Midwest are extremely friendly and love "outsiders"! the weather is very hot and fairly humid so I'm finding it kind of difficult to deal with but I love the sunshine so it's definitely an upgrade to British weather!
School is very different over here Classes are very strict and we get given a lot of homework every night, and me being me have chosen to study one of the hardest subjects in the western world...Chinese! I love this subject but it is extremely difficult it's like I'm a codebreaker, but I know that it will be very beneficial for my cv and hopefully I will continue it when I get home! The Chinese radicals(symbols) are only now starting to make sense to me!
I was recruited for zeta psi fraternity about two weeks ago which everyone should check out via the web if you don't already know what it is! I have to pay a little bit more than I would of liked for it but I believe it will really bulk out my cv and will help me in gaining a Job in the US if I choose to move out here in the future! Plus the activities that they organise are fantastic and I really feel like I have a few real brothers in the house! My teacher has started the lesson now so I will continue later on......
