Before i begin i'd like to say a few things. Firstly i'd like to point out that in my first journal entry i put that Sydney is in the Australian Capital Territory which is of course a lie as it is in New South Wales. I got confused!
Secondly i refuse to talk about the cricket other than to say it was a fun night and the SCG is a really nice stadium. I have deleted the memory of the game itself.
Thirdly i no longer care about football back home so please no gloating text messages or e-mails particularly from scummy Arsenal fans!
Right now that out of the way i can begin. After my last journal entry i went back to the flat which was empty coz everyone was working. As a result i decided to try and find some of Gary and Jammo's friends who live in a suburb of Sydney called Glebe. I eventually found their place and we decided to get the bus to circular quay which is the main sydney harbour. As a result i finally got to see the opera house and the harbour bridge. The bridge is pretty spectacular and i may have to climb it at some point even though its expensive to do so. The opera house is equally as spectacular but it wasn't white which confused me. Apparently it only appears white when its a clear day and it was cloudy whilst i was there. Whilst we were walking round the harbour we saw a guy juggling fire, and knives, and a chainsaw so we stopped to watch for a bit. This resulted in me being one of six people dragged out of the crowd to help him with his tricks. First we had to all lie down as he cycled round us standing on the saddle and juggling knives. Next he balanced the bike on top of a 20 foot pole and stood on the bike juggling one flaming torch, one knife, and an apple which he kept taking bites of. Whilst he was doing this we had to hold the pole still using six ropes attached to it. He was really impressive.
On tuesday i went into town and looked around the shops for a bit and got me, gary, and jammo england beach cricket shirts so we could wear them at the game that night. I then went back to the flat and waited till they got in from work at four so we could go down the pub. We then headed to the SCG at 7.15 and the game started at 7.30. Can't remember what happened in the game but it was fun.
Yesterday it was a really nice day (finally some good weather) so we went to bondi beach which was awesome. The beach is really nice with beautiful white sand, though its smaller than i thought it would be so it was quite busy. The sea was really rough so it was good fun jumping through the big waves. It was quite hard standing up against them though and my friend Krystle (i think thats how you spell it) was getting swept all over the place. The area round the beach was really nice as well with lots of cafes along the top to get lunch from and some grassy areas if you don't like sand. When i got home i found out that i was a bit burnt. Not too bad but my factor 15 suntan lotion obviously wasn't strong enough so i'll get factor 30 next time.
Don't know what i'm gonna do for the rest of today. Might have a lazy day and stay out of the sun. Anyway i'll speak to you all soon.
