A lot to catch up on I guess. Monday experienced some real American culture during Canada Day when they said 'why do they celebrate being Canadian, I didn't think Canada was a big deal' - and she was genuinely confused! Awful lol. On Wednesday we had the 'feast' for 4th of July.. even though it was only the 3rd. Thursday we were required to wear red, white and blue for the day and in the morning we had to watch the raising of the flag.
Anyway, my day off - off until 3 and then taken to a baseball game. Some minor league version of the Yankees v Phillies. A guy called Derek Jeter was playing, someone said he's the highest paid athlete in the world but he didn't make one hit so I don't really know why lol. He did play for the Yankees though, just playing down while he's injured. After the game they had a firework display for July 4th, it was actually quite impressive.. better than fairlands definitely!
Check in now, gotta go work hard in the heat.. very very hot the last couple of days. Will keep you updated. Lots of love xxx

G'ma Hi swthrt. It's been a while since I was on here, but as we're always on whatsapp, I forgot about your blog. :-) !! Glad to hear you had a good 4th July. Lots of the shops had clothing, hats, etc all ready for that when we were there. When we were looking for a gift for the baby, we saw mostly 4th July stuff. Not really apropriate here. :-) Glad you got to see a game. Shame he didn't make an impression. Sounds a bit like any member of the English football team, at any given time. ha ha. Hope you're still enjoying the campers being there, as much as ever. Keep on winning cabin of the week!!! But, of course, joking aside, you can't win all the time. The weather began to be too hot even when we were there, and we were asking people if it was always this hot...that was 33 degrees but also very humid. Lovely and sunny and bright, which was welcome for us, but also quite uncomfortable. Now we hear there is a heatwave and one man has even died from heatstroke in Texas. Going to be the hottest temp ever recorded on the planet there, well up into the 50's. Whew. Glad it wasn't remotely like that when we were in NY. 33 was way hot enough, or almost too much, for us. Mind you, since last week we have had gorgeous weather here and it's got hotter each day. It has been 27-29 deg's here. very hot indeed for us. Great though. Hope it lasts, as it makes everyone feel we've actually got a summer. It's a shame you've got rain at the moment, as you've said in whatsapp. But, hopefully it will cool things down a bit for you all. Okay, time to go now. It was GREAT seeing you, kim and all your friends in NYC, and also having the 'awesome meal'. Great fun too, capped off by the glorious weather. Couldn't have been better! Loved it. We're now thinking of going back, maybe next year, for perhaps 10-14 days. If Jessica hadn't been due when she was, we would've been there longer this time. She's a little joy, by the way, as I've said already, and Ella is as funny and delightful as ever. Lots of love. Take care in the heat. G'ma xxxxxx
