The 6 days we spent in Queenstown definately make this place a contender for pick of the stops. Without a doubt - the funnest place to be in the whole of New Zealand. For such a petite little lakeside town, it packs one hell of a punch. It ruined our bank accounts and our bowels. I won't go into details. And now im finally over the drama of losing my wallet, i can finally bring myself to talk about it all. 7 months later..
We were recharged and feeling relatively healthy at the start of the week. So much so that we decided to walk up the biggest mountain in the southern hemisphere. Fun right? We were hanging out of our backsides after what; ten minutes? Jess managed to wangle us a free afternoon on the luge tracks at the top - consolation for the hour long walk up there. Wasn't quite as hardcore as Rotorua, probably for the best. Racing Jess in her cheat cart was bad enough on a slow track. And to say she worked there, and rode the course every single day - i can almost sympathise with her for smashing me off the course as i overtook her on the final few bends.
A night out with the luge staff followed. Can't remember too much. Apart from shot skiis, more shot skiis and losing my wallet. When youre rough as toast the following morning the last thing you want to be doing is re-tracing your movements from the previous night. A lot of it did focus around one particular pine tree. Luckily for me though, it turned up at the police station later that day. I'd only cancelled 4 cards.
Obviously there was 'found my wallet' party that night but what made it even better - Emma, Brommers and Rosie had just arrived in town.
