Derby wasn't a very big town, it was like most mining towns, red dust everywhere. We found a lovely little coffee shop it looked like it belonged in the city, very modern. We headed off towards Hall Creek and noticed that the termite mounds were different than the NT they seemed to be fatter and rounder. There were wild horses wandering everywhere and we were lucky enough to see a mare and foal. Cattle still roamed everywhere and there was hardly any food for them. Today we went for a drive to Wyndham, it's only about 100kms from Kununurra. On the way we stopped at The Grotto, which is like a big gorge, it is out in the middle of nowhere, unfortunately the waterfall wasn't running but it was still interesting.
