February 14th... Valentine's Day
This past weekend we stayed in London because we had the Bath and Stonehenge trip on Saturday. Thursday was a good day at work, Stephane said thank you twice, and my feet actually didn't hurt from wearing my heels. After work I trekked all the way to Hammersmith on the Piccadilly line to meet Melissa and Emily to go to our play for theater class. This week it was at the Shepherd's Bush theater and we saw Helter Skelter. The venue was so small it was like you were up in the actors' faces. There were only two actors and two separate plays. The first one was about a lady getting an abortion and then the baby's daddy was at work in one of the World Trade Center buildings when the plane hit it on 9/11. The second was about a wife and her husband who were shopping in New York, had a fight over lunch, she found out he was cheating on her with her sister, and then stabbed her stomach (she was preggo). Pretty bizarre and depressing. Then the three of us plus Mike Mellini went to Walkabout in Shepherd's Bush and lucky for us it was karaoke night! Aussies love their karaoke and love to butcher some of America's best songs. We stayed for awhile because it was cheap but then we got a cab to Notting Hill to go to a place called Trailer Happiness that Melissa and I found online. We got there and it was closing... Greg met us and we then headed to Covent Garden to meet up with Jordan. We went to a place called Los Locos were drinks were 99% sugar. Murph and Cotter came too so it was a big Redcliffe party and we danced to a lot of Madonna and Britney.

The next day Emily and I decided to check out Covent Garden. It was pretty cool but nothing really worth buying. On our way home we walked past all the fashion week stuff and hit up H&M (of course). I bought a really cute headscarf which I wore to Mahiki that night. Melissa had friends visiting from Paris so we went there at 9:30 so we didn't have to pay the 10 pound cover. Of course, drinks were ridiculously overpriced but Em and I had like three, including a flaming watermelon. We tried to act famous so that we would attract the paparazzi, but no luck.

I thought I was going to puke when I woke up to go to Stonehenge the next day. The bus ride was horrible but I was alright once I got there. It was absolutely freezing out in the middle of nowhere on the top of some hill. There were tons of Asian tourists and it was packed. Thank god I didn't have to pay for it. Melissa and I did the audio tour and were very amused by the fact that they think either Satan or Merlin... I bet. Bath was next and was exactly what I remembered from going there with my parents. We actually got to tour the baths which was cool and we took some pretty pictures. Then we went to lunch at a really good cafe in an open atrium that kind of looked like the Bloomingdale's mall in Chicago. I had a panini that was delish and a cup of soup. It also took like an hour and a half to eat so we didn't have much time to sightsee afterwards. I bought a Chelsea jersey at JJB Sports and then we hopped on the bus for the two hour ride home. That night the boys decided it would be a good idea to have a case race before the IU basketball game. So of course we did too and some girls from Thoresby came over. Emily passed out laying across some chairs again. This time Greg yelled in her face "EMILY YOUR BIG TEN DEAL IS HERE... WITH RANCH AND YOUR CHOICE OF TWO BEVERAGES." It was pretty hilarious.

I slept in and woke up at about one on Sunday. Emily and I ventured to Kensington High Street to Whole Foods. We had a reallllly good lunch of a huge salad and some curry. I had so much that I had to take some home with me. The place is massive and is a mecca for health nuts in their Sunday best. We shopped for a few hours and were incredibly happy with our purchases. The rest of the day I spent writing a paper and catching up with Ehsan, Jennifer Bauer, Kristen, and Chris Page.
