Our road trip started today, first to Spokane where we admired the Spokane River and Falls. The riverside park was beautifully set out with walkways alongside the river and falls. We ended our walk with lunch on the outdoor deck of an old flour mill - lovely food and lovely weather. From here we went further on into town and stopped to look at the old, beautifully restored Davenport Hotel. There we're grand ballrooms and smaller reception rooms as well as a magnificent foyer area and furniture.
After a long drive through the northern part of Spokane we headed north to Newport and onto Bead lake where Jannan and Richard's friend have a lake cabin that we're using for the night. The cabin has been in Nancy Wriggle's family since the 1920's and has been added onto over the years to show lovely views of the lake and have lots of beds for visitors. We arrived in time for a short walk down to the lake edge then back to enjoy the views for the night.
