Let me tell you right from the start today is to be an exciting day for Di and I and Shirley. Shirley's friends Danielle and Michael have made contact and are taking us to Switzerland.
We met them at 9.30 a.m. and begin our adventure to a new country that neither Di or I had expected, to our surprise it takes less than 20 minutes to cross the boarder and be in Switzerland. Michael and Danielle have a big day plan and the first to come is a trip to Lugano, this a beautiful lake that is similar to Como. From Como to Lugano took all of 40minutes, this town is roughly about the same size as Como but the shopping is more high class which straight away tell you it is expensive. parking took some time, but at last we are free to wonder and fulfill our curiosity about this new found discovery. We walk, we talk as we walk, we shop, we laugh, then suddenly it lunch time.
We stop for lunch at a little street side caffe, and the tradition of the prosecco is up held by Diane and myself,4 of us have mushroom Risotto with saffron in it ,while Michael has spaghetti.Danielle decides that it would be nice to have coffee in a little town called Morcote which lies on the lake called Maggiore, this is a spectacular place, it is surrounded by very high mountains with houses and villages scattered throughout them , the water is crystal clear and to day very still so when I take a photo the reflexion appears in the water. This would be a nice area to spend more than a day , it is very peaceful and relaxing.
Alas it's time to hit the frog and toad and make our way back to Como, it has been a day that I will remember forever as it was never on the time table , and even though we saw such a little part of this small country Switzerland I understand why so many have fallen in love with it over the years. This now is our last day in Como my last blog will be of Malian tomorrow as we fly out of there on the Saturday our time. There will be a blog to rap up everything and I'll put that in Australia
Hope all are well , for now it's ciao.
