Thursday. Today was an absolutely beautiful day. I finally got to sleep in a bit and about 11 am I left to go on a day hike to Wallace Falls in Gold Bar, WA. I got to drive by myself and arrived around one. I was a bit skeptical at first because my first visual and first sounds were those of towering electrical lines and the crackling noises they made. But after a few minutes those sounds were replace by those of rushing water and chirping birds. I enjoyed a beautiful hike through moss covered trees and wonderful waterfall filled ravines. I just couldn't put my camera down. There were three separate falls and they got bigger all the way up to the upper falls. I climbed down to the lower falls off of the path (illegal) and got some great photos down there. Then I stopped at the middle falls for the longest because there was such an amazing seemingly never ending view of the mountains. After a short stop at the very top, 2.7 miles from the beginning I made my way back down, stopping for a sandwich once. It began to rain, but it was nice because it kept me cool. Every time I stopped and took of my pack, a plume of steam would roll off my back. Tired, I returned to the car a hundred pictures richer and a thousand calories poorer.
