... so we had breakfast at the herralas and then we spontaneously decided to head out to yosemite natnl park! i was really excited and we were on the road in around an hour. we stopped at a california fast food chain called "in-n-out" and we got some good burgers. it took 3ish hours to get there and as we drove into the valley i got my first glimps of those famous rocks. it was unbelievable. the sheer magnitude was almost too much to take in. we stopped at the base of one of the cliffs and watched climbers make their way up the 3000 feet rock walls. we then drove around some more and saw more of the park. at supper time we went to a mexican place and filled up on enchiladas. then we headed for a very nice two hotel and got a two room suite for the night. the next morning we headed over to a local restaurant for breakfast then made a b line for the giant sequoia grove. everything in that park was soo big! we were able to walk through one of the trees and we hiked up to a huge tree wherew we took some pictures. it started to rain so we headed down. after we left we headed on up a mountain to glacier point. i have never ever seen another view like that and probably never will. i sat spellbound for a while and then took a boatload of photos. the thousands of feet down canyons and the formidable "half dome" peak were just so amazing that i just kept taking pictures eventhough i already had duplicates of every possible shot there was. after that incredible view we headed home. on the way we took a little detour through alittle town called "hornitos" which meant oven. it was very tiny and was once a gold mining town. as we drove through this desolate area you could see on the hillsides rock walls that were built by chinese immigrants in the 1850's to clear pastuer land for the cattle. they were really neat. there were slag piles and old gold mines all over. we got semi lost and then finally made it home. i crashed
