So leaving London from Heathrow T5 was quite a luxury. Had breakfast at Gordan Ramsey's restaurant there which was amazingly yummy. Had to rush for the plane as we remembered that we had to catch a train to the gates, ARGH! Spent most of the flight knocked out as i'd only had 2hrs sleep the night before!
Arrived at JFK on time but didn't imagine the queue for immigration to be as bad as it was, had to wait for an hour by which time our luggage had arrived before we did?!?! That NEVER happens! After all that, we finally get our backpacks and put them on our backs. Only then do I realise that maybe the backpack was NOT the best form of luggage for me!
We eventually go for a bus into town as it wasn't too pricey. Told that the big bus would take us to grand central to transfer for another bus to our hotel..... Get to Grand Central quite quickly and get off the bus for our transfer. There we wait, and wait, and wait..... Bus after bus comes and goes, none of which are taking us to the hotels! Eventually (after 45mins) theres a smaller bus to take some people to a few hotels on the west side, we ask when ours would get there only to be told "dunno"!?!? I ask how far our hotel is from where we were and they said 6min walk, why not tell us that in the first place?!?! So off we go backpack on back to walk 10 blocks, felt so long and heavey but not too long till we got there.
After settling into our home for the next few days, we make plans for NYC. Seeing as we've been here before, theres not much that we had left to see. We decided to spend the day wondering around a bit as the weather was good. Ended up in Central Park to sunbathe for a while in the afternoon. Felt like staying there all day long but thought we spend our time more wisely.
