WELCOME! so today I woke up to the sounds of horses which from the picture is the 'milkman'. Every morning at around 6am groups of horsess come in to the village to deliver milk to shops and homes. They fill each of the pots up on the side of the horses and you bring out your buckets to get filled up. So amazing... even more so at that beautiful time of the morning. After breakfast which was pancakes.... the best in asia! and chai I went to meet the digging gang for another day of work. I also brought them the local newspaper that had them on the front cover talking about what they are doing here... i think it also blabs on about how much better workers they are then Nepali workers and that they do it for nothing.... i wonder how that goes down. :S Anyway so we went to work on the drainage which was pretty fun.... i must say that the dirt we were shovelling was so nice, it wasnt mud, it didnt stick, it was like butter.... sooo soft. So enough of my love for that soil... we worked on that for the day whilst talking about american politics and australian politics and canadians and kiwi's. Quite fun. We had lunch at one of our usual spots, (momo's, eggs and soup) and then went back to work... the boys went to fix suits up, they were able to get a fully tailored suit for $70. Arista and I just finished up the drain, did alot of chatting which was nice, we were both able to vent about some things. Arista is really cool, I find her very down to earth whereas a couple of the others just seem sooo typical american. I find it hard to connect with them. After the drain we just helped the other workers out with tieing rebar... they are getting everything ready to pour concrete for the walls of the septic tank. We finished work at around 5 and went to mine again for tea and top gear and toast. sooo good. we watched the bolivia special. I wish some people did not make any comments though. I could essentially blow and shove a sock down her throat to make her stop talking. The group left at around 7.30 to go back to their families and I had my dal baht and spent time with Pratush. Juno, who is Pratush's mother here also bought me some beautiful green bangles for July. This month women are supposed to wear green bangles and fast on mondays. Juno is really lovely, she looks after me with chai in the afternoons. wonderful day.
