Caio,
So it has been a while between blogs. Currently in Rome after spending three nights in Venice and three previously in Munich. Munich was pretty relaxed for us. Not a great deal of attractions to see and do, so we more used the days to catch up on sleep, washing and etc. The main thing we did in Munich though was see the Dachau concentration camp (the first in the world) which was pretty full on. A few of the buildings still stand, but the others built are exact replicas to give you an idea of what it was like. Was a good day though, James liked it and I became well educated after hating history in school. The pictures pretty much explain how it was, massive - but then pretty cramped for like 40,000 prisoners to be held when it was only built for 6,000. Overall, Munich was good, probably had the best food we've come across so far which is well needed now having two big stops ahead of us...Venice and Rome.
We arrived in Venice with our shortest bus ride so far only about 9 hours!!! (Mum, I've learnt to grow patience!). A lot more people travelling on our bus this time, so we began to make a few friends. We stayed three nights in a camping village (private cabin), with a bar, pub, pizzeria, pool and sunbaking deck...heaven!) The first of our nights was spent at a pool side Toga party, which was pretty awesome, cheap drinks and making new friends. Due to it being so hot (and James extremely hung over) the next day was spent by the pool getting a tan. In the night we headed into Venice to have dinner and a stroll. We got a small glimpse of what the city was like ready for tomorrow's full day.
Due to ciesta (or however you spell it) the lazy Italians stop work between like 12pm and 4pm, so most places shut and so does our bus rides. In fact, they didn't start again until 7:30pm meaning we had to spend a total of 7.5 hours entertaining ourselves. We strolled around for about 4 hours and found ourselves at the complete other end of the island meaning we had to walk all the way back. We got a little lost, in the photos you can see how small the streets are and there's so many bridges and little turn off to everything. We ended up seeing most of the tourist attractions (I think!), but after about 6 hours of non stop walking in about 35 degrees we were well and truely keen to head home (after I had my kit kat gelato.. yum!).
