Brighton was so much fun this weekend!
GSE arrived in the evening to a hotel in Brighton where we quickly unpacked and ran out for dinner. Tina, Stephanie and I went out to the pier to see what could be found. We settled on a seafood place and ordered some beer with our fish and chips (they are quickly becoming my favorite meal).
Afterward we went to the arcade to play some games. Tina had never played at a slot machine before so Stephanie showed her how. She deposited 50 pence and on her second try won 5 pounds. Stephanie and I quickly advised her to cash out and we laughed at her wonderous luck. Once we were bored with the arcade we left to walk about the little town booming with nightlife. We ended up on the main drag at a club called Heist where we met our leaders David and Michael. We had a few beers and called it a night early.
Saturday we did some shopping around Brighton before going to the Palace. The Royal Palace at Brighton is absolutely beautiful in my opinion. It's of Georgian Architecture (no I don't really know what that means) and is decorated in an oriental style. Very grand. The tour was short but it was cool to see...I wasn't able to take pictures of the inside but I have a few of the outside entrance.
After the palace Stephanie, Tina and I went down to the beach because we were determined to go in the freezing water. Everyone thought we were crazy but we had something to prove. It was COLD!!!! Oh my goodness it was cold. We were really brave. The pictures are pretty funny.
Dinner was fabulous at a little Italian place called FAT leo. Dessert was quickly finished because we were missing the first half of the Rugby World Cup Semi-Final game between France and England. Of course England won and GSE was in on all the fun. We were playing drinking games in the pub with the rest of the English. Man I love Rugby! Luckily it didn't get out of hand and everyone made it home safe and hangover free (including me...aren't you proud).
Sunday we packed up and left Brighton behind. It was a fun little town and a great weekend.
Next weekend I'm off to Bath and Stonehenge!
