Hi,
Well I left Magnetic Island yesterday and arrived in Airlie Beach last night. I am off sailing around the WhitSundays today for 3 days and 2 nights not on the boat I originally planned but on a slightly smaller boat which sounds good to me it is called the Siska and is an 80ft Maxi yacht. Hopefully I will get some good pictures for you. As well as sailing around we get to go snorkelling which should be good I have hired my stinger suit just to be on the safe side. Anyway I am armed with my sea sickness and ginger tablets so off I go I must admit I am quite excited as well as being a tiny bit nervous. Speak to you all in 3 days.
I'm back I managed not to fall overboard or drown snorkelling. Sailing in the WhitSundays was great. All my worrying about feeling unwell, the toilets and not being able to sleep was needless. I didn't feel sick once and even managed two decent nights sleep aboard the yacht, it is a very nice feeling being being gently rocked as you fall asleep. The islands are so beautiful especially Whitehaven beach the sand is so soft apparently they made the lense for the Huble telescope with it!!!!!!!!!! All the girls used the sand to exfoliate our hands and feets and it really does make them very soft.
The snorkelling was even better than the Great Barrier Reef as it was much calmer and we saw so many different fish, still no Nemo though:( Our guide was throwing food to the fish off the back of the boat and Emma and I found ourselves completely surrounded by fish, it is a very strange feeling they are very curious and will come really close to you and even try to take a little nibble out of you. I must admit the sence from the film Birds did flash through my head!!! The Corel is amazing too such bright colours - blues and greens.
On the second evening we got to see a brillant sunset and I have some great pictures that I will upload soon. The same evening I got back to land I had to catch the bus to Hervey Bay which is the gateway to Fraser Island and tomorrow I am off to spend a night on the largest sand island in the world.
