Jess's Overseas Adventures!
Hi!Well its all happening over here...my last shift at the bar was on the 21st of october, so over a week ago. We went out afterwards to Dusk. Work gave me a big card with messages from everyone.. and a takeaway box with frozen chips in it... apparently I'm obsessed with chips! (Well I do like them, but i always seem to be hungry when the only food available is chips..)Earlier on in the week, I had Bri to stay with me which was great. We went out on the tuesday for dinner at Crazy Homies - a mexican place near me that has great food and margaritas. Then we had a few drinks at my bar.Last week I went to Devon on wednesday with Laura and the kids. Her paternal grandmother has a beautiful house there. We stayed 2 nights and came back Friday. It seriously reminded me of childhood holidays - and visits to Ros and John's farm. We went on some long walks around the country - trudging through the mud and stepping over cowpats in wellies! it was really cold though, so I had to wear thermals to bed - and during the day as well. On Friday night I went down to Camberley on the train to stay the weekend at Doug and Viv's. I had such a lovely time - on the Saturday we went in to the town for their usual saturday morning shop and met Claire, Mark and Lily for a coffee. Lily is 13 months now and runs around the place! Becky and I came up to London with her friend Dave in the afternoon for the Electric Proms which were in Camden. We had dinner at Wagamamas (noodle/asian chain restaurants) then walked up to the Roundhouse where they were being held. There were 2 bands (the Guillemots and Kasabian) which I had never heard of, but that's not surprising! - both playing with the BBC concert orchestra. And it was broadcast live on BBC3. We were there quite early so we managed to get at the very front, only one person back from the front. The first band was quite chilled but the second was serious moshpit style! Seeing as I have never even been to an actual 'gig' before, being in the middle of a moshpit was quite hilarious for me. Of course I was wearing boots so wasn't very appropriately dressed! But it was loads of fun and I ended up actually knowing one of the songs. Pa, I think you would have been very proud of me!This week I'm moving out my flat, and then I'm going to Geneva on friday morning to meet Sally there for the weekend - should be awesome, so very excited!I'll post some photos soon..love Jess x
