JK - so a quick 2 hour hop from KLIA brought us in to Bangkok. What a place this is! Warm, buzzing, busy, crazy and fascinating. We started the day traveling by boat to visit Wat Arun, an amazing temple named after the India God of dawn, Aruna. It was beautiful and well worth a visit, just beware of the steep climb to the top!
We decided to walk back through the markets - pure indulgence for all the senses and I hope a small taste of what Bangkok is really like. We had our first taste of street food as well, nothing to adventurous (spring rolls and tofu), but we had to start somewhere!
Arriving back at the hotel we had a quick swim in the roof top pool before heading of for a massage. Tom went for a Thai massage (basically bent, twisted and stretched in ways his body wouldn't normally go) and I had an oil massage. Walking in felt like (what I imagine) an opium parlour to be like; peaceful, low lighting and lots of people splayed on beds groaning. It really was £5 for an hour well spent.
Next to a restaurant with the whole group for some hot (Thai) food and plenty of Singha beer to wash it down with.
A few of us then headed of to the backpackers area, near Kow San Road for some more beers, big beers with their own pump that they bring to your table! And now so to bed. Bangkok, je t'aime.
