So we finally got round to writing a blog!!! We are about to leave LA tommorrow...looking like lobsters!! Nobody told us it was on a desert!! OOooops!! So we've had a few adventures already!!!
To begin...NEW YORK!!! Now were in new york (the song!!). We discovered our love for walking...some might say a litlle bit of an extreme love! Lack of funds being the cause...we walked the length of manhatten (NOT JUST ONCE!). Jess had some ankle issues! both our legs nearly fell off!! very interesting! Our first walk took us to gang territory! SCARY! We tried different blocks to locate the safe street! we were succesfful hence we are alive. So the next day we did lots of sightseeing...we say lots but we mean LOADS! The best was the view from Rockerfeller centre. We styaed until the sunset to see the beautiful skyline and the lights of New York. It was amazing! Not only for us but for the people who got married in front of us and the empire state building! Very bizarre! The empire state building looked cool from the sky but weirdly we were not impressed from the ground! 'Is that the empire state building?!' 'It cant be' 'I think it is!' 'Oh is that it!!."
On Jess's birthday we chilled out a bit...but still walked all day! IOts a New York thing! We walked around central park, saw lots of runners but didnt join in due to extreme walking pains! In the evening...very spontaneous decision to go to see CHICAGO on Broadway! We were ten rows back...good deal. Amazing show but tired from walking!! So no bars...still havent b een out yet we tend to prefer our ten hour walking days.
Last day in New York...RAIN! It didnt prevent our longest walk yet...we set off in our sexy raincoats and marched to ground zero. Very weird experince its currently a building site. Then we bumped into the statton island ferry so hopped on to see the statue of liberty. Then strolled onto wall street after we'd given up looking for it.After this we had a three hour walk back to the hostel to look forward to. Needless to say a lot of starbucks were needed!
LA...
HOT HOT HOT!! Hence curret lobster state!! And the fact that we have time to sit and write this beacuse we can not enter sunlight! We have done the touristy bits and seen celeb houses. Santa Monica beach is responsible for lobsterness! We really like it here...
Both places were evry different to what we expected.
So now we have a 4am start tommorrow for the la to the b ay tour. Hopefully we will be better at updating you!
Love Leila and Jess xxx
