right to follow are days 2 and 3 from our death defying trip to fraser island, sorry to keep you all hanging but it makes it that bit more exciting now doesnt it!! eh? glad to seesome of you recognised my writing not so sure thats a god thing though but oh well.
ENJOY
we woke ony 2 to yet again more sand but the sun was out and we were on a paradise island so its all good.
after the events of the night before we were all quite tired but glad to be out of the hell hole of a tent! a few of our fellow capers were up and about getting breaky and had the pan on with boiling water ready for a brew! so we have some cereal i went for the old favourite abit of corn flakes yummy, we even had sugar!! we really weree living in style.
we took down our tents in matters of minutes as it only had one pole holding it up, sterdy i know! tut tut. packed up our 4 x 4 and we were back on the road heading for the ship wreck! we made a brief stop for ice as we had meets in our freezer box! and beer that had to be kept cold!
Maria took a turn at driving on day 2 which was an event in itself, she just kept laughing the hole time, put you a bit on edge, before we set of the guy said to us, if you fellow passengers in the back are quiet its because they are scared s***less (excuse the language) well that we were! it wasnt that bad though, i found it fun as we all did going over bumps and flying up in the air! was fun, get a bit of a sore bum though!
on the way to the wreck we stopped of at a creek, eli creek which was really pretty (we have so many pictures it jus takes ages to put them up) we got to walk down the creek to the sea which was really nice, before we got in there was a nice sign saying beware of snakes and eel!! (tell me again why we are walking down it)!! luckily no snakes swam by just one eel, but he kepy himslef to himself so we left him well alone! was a bit cold in the water but a nice walk! we all enjoyed that!
after the creek it was time a new driver to take the wheel and show the 4 x 4 what its been missing!! thats right i stepped up and took that bad boy for a ride!! it was so much fun driving along an open beach, there was nothing around so i couldnt do it that mcuh harm, unfortunatly the ship wreck was only like 5 mins away so that wasnt a very long drive but wegot out did the tourist thing and took pictures and looked the rusty boat! then i took to the wheel again to the next stop which was pinicles, that was preety boring and again only like 5 mins drive away. we stopped there for like less than a miniute, with all my passengers still in tact i handed the keys to someone else as we carried on our adventure.
settin of to indians head and the champagne pools, jen had a go behind the wheel, i think she enjoyed it1 it was off roading who wouldnt! she did a better road then me, it was soft sand and more exciting! we went to indians head and got a great veiw of fraser island then headed of to champagne pools. the pools were gorgeous, no sharks were in them so i took a dip! they were like rock pools with the sea cruching over the side into the pool creating foam, hence the name champagne pools! it was a bit chilly but as we were there i had to go in!
we then headed to our campsite on the beach, well we thought the first night was bad!! well night to was very very very windy!! we had spag bol this night, which was very good, we all enjoyed that, with a nice glass of goon! i say nice a glass of goon! then just sat around listen to music in the wind storm! went to brush our teeth and we could even get our spit to land in the hole as it was that windy! not nice i know just telling the truth trying to get across how windy it was! VERY!!
then into our tent we went, not something any of us were looking forward to! in the tent we got into our sleeping bgs and tried to pretent we werre in our nice soft warm beds at home and not lying on hard sand in a death tent!!
now this night i swear there wer dingoes just out side sniffing around for there next meal and i thought it was going to me! with the rain beatiung down on our tent and the fear of taking of becasue of the wind a dingo was the last thing we needed!! trying to sleep we all snuggled in for group safety and i think eventually we all got about 1 hours sleep, lovely!! clearly did not feel wide awake in the morning! but with another bowl of corn flakes down us we headed of to a lake and i got behind the wheel yet again for lake birabean (sure that is spelt wrong but try and work with me)
it was the most fun and exciting drive ever, it sure did wake me up! the path was full of roots and it was so thin!! it ws really quite tricky and alot of it was up hill, but it was amzing!! at first everyone had to tell me to slow down because i kept driving over bumps really fast so they would fly up in the air in the back, they did not like that so much, but i was having fun, it was a 4wheek drive thats what they are made for humps and bumps and speed!! so finally got to the lake after winding down the sandy track and it was so worth it!! it was gorgeous only about 4 other people there and it was so clear!! it was gorgeous! so we all went in! how could we not! it was stunning! i loved it!! then we had to be ushered on to lake mckenzie as we had to sqeeze it all in i did not drive i had done my bit and i loved it! i miss driving my little red bug! so to lake mckenzie we went, it was nice not as nice as the last though, as it was really busy, we went in still though anmd it was pretty! few dingos hanging around!! not good,
after the swim we went back to lunch which was ham sandwiches again which were awesome! then we heded back to get the boat back to civilisation! so we pumped our tyres back up and on the boat we got! took the car back then drove on to our hostel, were we had take away pizzas and wine but the best bit was the comfort of a nice bed in a bedroom with a bathroom and shower!! we were all clean again!! yey!!
and as you can imagine we had a very very good night sleep!!
the end!
