Very hectic so late writing this blog in afraid. First full day in Geneva and we had a more relaxing day as we were both very tired. We started by going to a department store for breakfast as it had a self service breakfast for €6 on the roof terrace, which for Switzerland is a good price. The hostel had given us a map of the area and it had hints and tips for what to do if you don't have long in Geneva so we decided to follow that. Started by going to the Place des Nations where there were water fountains and lots of flags outside. Then we took the tram to the Old Town and mooched through the shops for a few hours. We found the park which had a university in and the Reformation Wall. We were pretty hungry so decided to have lunch there as didn't know when else we would find food. It was 25€ for a burger and chips!! Shocking price but delicious taste. Waiter was rubbish though and service not brilliant. Next we went to the markets which happened to be on that day. Was basically a car boot sale with some really odd things being sold! We then decided to try and find the beach that was on the map and were not successful. We walked for ages and could not find it- very bemused! We came back, freshened up and cooked pasta (very domesticated) and headed out to have a few drinks. This didn't quite happen... We got side tracked by street dancers at the lake. Amazing talents and funky music kept is entertained for a while. We also had a walk around the lake to the lighthouse which was nice. We found the beach too- absolutely tiny and not worth it! By the time we looked at our watch it was late so we decided to skip drinks and head back so we would be awake and alive for the flight the next day!
