Jen's Journeys
We started out onsunday by heading up the funicular (right by our hotel) to Montjuic, one of the hills in Barcelona, and home to the events of the 1992 summer olympics. Now, not one of our students was alive for that (ugh!) but they really enjoyed seeing the stadium. And while in there I happened to overhear some other people talking about Medford, Wisconsin. Turns out there was a group of about 8 of them in town for work. Marathon Cheese is apparently buying a new machine for packaging the cheese, and had to come to Barcelona to get the deal done. And, one of them turned out to be the uncle of a former colleague of mine (Anna Cihlar for those of you that know her)! Such a small world! Then we took the transbordador from the top of Montjuic down to Barceloneta - a very high aerial car ride over the port. Really pretty views, but yeah, we were really high up there! Then we gave the kids beach/shopping time for a while before heading back for freshen up time before our goodbye dinner.

Jamie M I really liked the funicular and cable car! Very fun!
Jen Charles I thought about you often while we were there! :)
Joan Blaschke Glad that you could post the pics from Barcelona. Great shots and super comments. Barcelona is impressive; last visited in 2004.
