Kristofer picked us up on bus 18 and we headed to the Vasa Museum (via a great lookout of the city) which was built around the Vasa, a ship that shank on in the harbour on its maiden voyage in the mid 1600's. The ship was raised in 1961 and dragged to a dried and they built the museum around it. The ship was very well preserved because the Baltic Sea is brackish. Absolutely brilliant.
Then back to town to the Ice Bar - a lot of fun and interesting too.
On to the Old Town, this part of town is beautiful, the largest palace in Europe (it has one more room than Buckingham Palace!), churches, squares and many other beautiful buildings.
The cruise back out to see travels past many of the over 300 islands - just brilliant.
Will have to come back to spend more time here!

AJ The ice bar sounds like a lot of fun!
jenrue The Ice Bar was great fun AJ. The glasses are made of ice too. A bit tricky to drink out of ... But I managed ;-)
