Moved our camp about 300mtrs up the hill so we could catch the morning and afternoon sun and be closer to other campers. More trees here so we also set up a shower/toilet and had lovely hot showers! Pulled out the manual washing machine and proceeded to wash all our dirty clothes and hung them out to dry. We were out of bread so we made a nice dough and let it rise, then baked it in the Dutch Oven on the fire...Came out perfectly and we ate it warm with loads ...

Early morning wake up at the truck stop, and headed off to Tamworth (wasn't much in Gunnedah except a few koalas). Hiked 4.9km up to the top of split rock, very steep in sections and involved scrambling across rock faces and a few sharp drops in parts. View was worth it- even better than yesterday's hike! We havent quite figured out why the breadknife walk is amongst the top 10 walks in Australia- we found it too commercial, with pavements and stairs. Set off early this morning for a 14.5km hike to the 'Breadknife' and 'Grand High Top' in the Warrumbungles NP. Very hard going up steep rocky paths, stairs and over rocky outcrops. Had a picnic lunch looking over the valley, then continued on through 'Bluff Crater' and then the final downhill leg of the journey. Made very good time, arriving back in 5/2 hours.
