The caravan was towed to the NRMA depot and put in storage and the truck left at Nissan until it has been repaired. We have a hire car and checked into our motel room. Poured and poured rain last night, thank god we fixed the window leak! Had cold showers on the beach then headed north to Ballina. Drove through lots of sugar cane plantations and sugar refineries. Poured rain last night and early this morning so we decided to continue up the coast in search of hot sunny weather! Had cup of tea and biscuits at the 'driver reviver' site, then continued on to Coffs Harbour. Topped up on supplies and went to the Big Banana. We bought a bunch of cutie, yummy bananas and watched them making candy (humbugs and castle rock type) at the lollie shop. They no longer have a train to take u through the banana plantation.... What a fantastical, beautiful place we have woken up in! Surrounded by golden rocks, aqua blue water, mountains in the distance and bright warm sunshine- this place is stunning!! Most of our day was spent on the beach appreciating the perfect surroundings, reading, enjoying a picnic lunch and the occasional beach snooze.
