Hi everyone!
Well we have finished Victa Matey the first part of our Oz Experience and are now in Sydney. Our trip from Adelaide to Melbourne was very tiring with two two hour hikes up mountains in the Grampians clambouring over and through rocks for a breathtaking view from the top. We saw the 12 Apostles (only 8 still standing) at sunset while staying in Princetown with a population of only 8. We went to the Otway Fly Rainforest and walked along a wobbly bridge in the canopy. We stopped at the Kennet River where we saw more koalas in the trees and one of them actually moved. It was funny to watch the beautifully vibrant parrots fly down from the trees and perch on peoples arms and heads. We drove along the Great Ocean Road which was beautiful and saw the lighthouse used in the filming of Round the Twist.
We stayed in St Kilda in Melbourne which is a cool little beach town. We did what all English tourists do in Melbourne and went on the Neighbours tour! We went to Ramsey Street and Erinsborough High and met some of the stars in a very cheesy evening which was great fun. We both really liked Melbourne and once we had got the hang of the trams found it easy to get around and explore. We met up with some friends from home and it was nice to see familiar faces and see different areas of Melbourne.
After our 11 nights in Melbourne we headed towards Sydney. We went for a walk in Wilsons Promontory National Park before spending the night at Lakes Entrance where lakes join the sea along Nighty mile beach. We went to Lake Jindabyne which is a beautiful man made lake built for the Snowy Mountain Hydroelectricity Scheme. It was formed directly over the existing town and some of the buildings can still be seen when the water level is low. We stopped of in Canberra the capital city where we had a guided tour arount Parliment House which was actually really interesting. We arrived in Sydney on Saturday and have been busy arranging our Christmas plans and booked a restaurant overlooking Darling Harbour which should be lovely. We hope you all have a fantastic christmas and new years!!!
