THE GREAT ESCAPE..... From Paraty we travelled to Fos to see the Iguassu Falls from the Brazilian side, again another stunning sight. Spent the morning there and afer being mobbed by Ant Eaters we went to a bird park. The birds were so bright they looked like they had been spray painted. From Fos we were supposed to travel over the boarder to Argentina which brings me onto the Geat Escape.... The boarders between Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina have been closed for 5 days so we were stranded in Brazil. After waiting for hours at the boarder our tour leader (Sebastian) decided to hire a speed boat to drop us off at the Argentinian port (not entirely legal!) anyway the police were at the port so we were dropped off at the bottom a cliff instead! After managing to climb half way up the cliff (with our backpacks!) you guessed it, we were greeted by about 15 police officers who seemed a little bemused as to why 4 girls were scrambling up a cliff with huge rucsacks. After convincing them it was a good idea for them to carry our bags the rest of the way we were detained! taken back to the police station and searched. How misson impossible are we! After convincing them we weren't drug smugglers we got some great photos of our adventure, escorted through the blockades and invited out for drinks...not bad for a group of illegal imigrants! We are on our way to Uruguay later on today but possible in a more conventional way.....!
