So - first Katherine says I have to mention that it was snowing while we were at Versailles! It is freezing here!

We made it to Amsterdam! We had some trials along the way getting the train (it was sold out) but we took a slower one, switched in Brussels and finally arrived in Amsterdam. We checked into our hotel, quickly showered and headed out in the rain and cold to go check out this boat tour and the Anne Frank Haus. Because it's so cold, we scratched the canal boat tour and hit up the Anne Frank Haus. We'd both heard it was something not to miss.

We took the tour of the house and read excerpts from her diary. It was pretty moving! After the tour, we just walked around the streets of Amsterdam. Quite an experience! We met an Asian family from LA who's on a week trip all over Europe with their kids who are on Spring Break. We took tons of pictures of the city and its canals and of course all the bikes. There are bikes everywhere! Many of which Katherine almost got run over by! We saw the flower market and tons of tulips and other things they sell that you can grow! :-)

We took a cab back to the hotel and got dressed for dinner. We headed out to a place near the hotel that's pretty touristy but still tons of fun! We ate at an Italian restaurant that was to die for! The atmosphere was so relaxing. There was even a cat at the restaurant... we took pictures of course!
