My first day is Tel Aviv was mainly spent exploring the city. The hostel I am staying in is located on the beachfront promenade and my room is on the ground floor next to reception so is literally a mere 15 steps from my bed to the beach. As it is ANOTHER holy day (marking the end of Sukkot) there is not many stores open. I therefore literally had to hunt for food. I must have walked miles before I eventually gave up and went to the supermarket and bought fruit, humous and pitta bread.
So after the morning exploring the city, not much very exciting to report as life seems to come to a standstill during Jewish holidays so it seemed like a good idea to take a well earned break and lay on the beach! I clearly needed it as I think i fell asleep as soon as my head hit the sand. All the way along the coast line are different beaches you could pick, all very much the same with a different view of the Tel Aviv sky scrapers that's line the beach. It actually reminds me a lot of Miami here. Tons of joggers, rollerbladers and skates borders flying past, Israelis walking, running and even cycling with their dogs. Everyone wandering around in the chilled atmosphere that is a beach city, no one seems to have a care in the world! When it got to 6oclock the sun starts to set and you can literally watch the sky change colour as the sun disappears. It's a beautiful hour of the day.
