Jon Hi Jenny. Got the following info from various sites. Battambang is a province of Cambodia. It is in the northwest of the country, and its capital is Battambang. The name literally means loss of stick referring to a legend of Preah Bat Dambang Kranhoung (Kranhoung Stick King). Unfortunately I have yet to find any site that explains the legend....mind you they all seem to say exactly the same thing!! Like photographs! Did you sample any of the local delicacies by any chance??
