Arrived safely In Cambodia...This place is VERY busy..Lots of people on bikes, motor bikes!! It seems that this place never sleeps infact! Off to Siem Reap to see the lovely Ankor Wat in next few days....Can’t wait xxxxMore updates soon guy’s xxx
Update...Had a great few days in PP and managed to escape being run down by the millions of motorbikes which dominate the roads here! When we first arrived here we weren’t sure if it would be our thing, it was also roasting hot! We soon discovered that PP was actually a really cool place! Made the most of our stay here by visiting the Royal Palace, riverfront, Killing fields and S21 prison (more on these random last 2 things later!!).The Royal Palace was lovely and reminded me a little of the Grand Palace in Bangkok...Beautiful buildings and with lots of attractive designs. Our visit to the Killing fields and the S21 prison was interesting but also a little sad...There was a huge monument at the killing fields with hundreds of skulls in. Dotted around the fields were also signs pointing out mass graves and how many people were buried in that particular area..There were also bones and skull pieces along the many paths ekkkk...It wasn't the most pleasant of experiences but it was an experience in itself to learn what these people went through...
After this rather bizarre experience we took a tuk tuk down the the river where we were able to chill out along the water front! I guess life is ok for some huh!!! I really liked it down here and had a great atmosphere. As usual we were pestered by the street sellers...This time they were 6 year children selling books. They seemed to only want to sell to us and kept asking us what books we wanted...Lots of interesting sights down by the river and also noticed a BLIND massage parlor!!!After seeing all the sites of PP we took a 6 hour coach to Siem Reap which is where Ankor Wat is...
Back to PP (12/02/06) Had a long bus journey back here, this time we are to stay 2 nights down at the lake and from here we will catch a bus to Saigon in Vietnam. This place is lovely, we are staying at a really great hostel. All the hostels are dotted around the lake on stilts..Ours is really lively which is always good! Last night we met some great people and of course we had to play circle of death!! We managed to get through quite a few buckets of vodka and coke and it cost all of us under a quid each! Each bucket had a whole bottle of vodka in! Was a great night!
