Arrived in Avalon two days ago to stay with family. A lovely village feel but shops, beach and cove all within 10 min walk. Beautiful surroundings and have seen many parrakeets and parrots which always seem to be skwarking and fighting! So far no scary creatures but have been told a few stories especially about sharks that seem to emply that even paddling may not be safe! Man reading newspaper in water was apparently eaten not so long ago and a diver in the harbour met the same fate!! Avalon is on a penninsula a little north of Sydney and about 5 mins from the famous Palm Beach from Home and Away. Plenty of little coffee shops to keep me happy and lots of photo opportunities for Mark. Spent the first couple of days feeling sleepy but nowstarting to settle in ok.

Planning lots of things to do including the zoo, aquarium and many beach trips.

The main observation so far is that everyone is VERY healthy! Everyone is always in jogging/running/surfing gear. Hmmm will have to keep up....will let you know how that goes!
