Hi Peeps.
Just leaving Singapore now, awaiting our flight to Ho Chi Minh City.. so thought would update you all on what we have been up to over the last couple of days.
So we arrived in Singapore late in the evening of the 4th June, and got a taxi to our hostel, The hostel was in an awful area of the city... and we werent looking forward to next following 4 days!! so we mooched around, got a few drinks and then went back to our room to sleep.
The next day we got up & attempted to eat the free breakfast the hostel put on for us.... chewy cereal and warm UHT Milk... Euwwwww!!!! Stop one, the Singapore Flyer...
The weather was blooming hot - but raining!! it reminds me of Tropical world at home! Anyway we waited around for a while for the thing to open, then we boarded it - i took hunderds of pics - but its just like being on the London Eye - grey clouds & rain...
Although the views were still great - the big sky scrapers, the singapore river, the opera house and all the boats which pass singapore - to deliver everything from China / Taiwan etc to THE uk..... Everyones new TVs & computers were aboard!
Anyway after this, we stumlbed upon a spa, so had a look inside..... saw lots of fish in tanks, so went for the fish spa - where fish nibble on your feet & remove the dead skin... Yeah it is as horrible as it sounds!! 30 minutes of pure hell!!!
Luke seemed to enjoy it - so went into the tank with the bigger fish - fish the size of your middle finger - i stayed int he tank where the fish were as 1/2 the size!! - They did the trick though - my feet look / felt great afterwards - were thinmking of buying some when we come home!!!
The funny thing was, there were about 50 fish on my feet to every 1 fish on lukes?? were my feet actually that bad??
So from here we went to get some lunch, I dont know what i had, but it was the nicest meal in the whole wide world - absolutley delicious - i know it was seafood - but think it was octopus or something different...
From here we went to Raffles.....Woooooo Hoooo!!!!!! Took us ages to work out how to get in there - we approached the hotel from the front... as we approached the front door, the door was shut & the door man peered through the door - he definatley didnt want us walking through the hotel - so asked how to get to the Long bar, Eventually we got there after roaming the hotel grounds - finding the Billiards room & the courtyard.. So we ordered our singapore slings (before even contemplating the price) and threw our peanut shells on the floor... yup $60.00 for 2 premade cocktails!!! Eeeek!!
So we sat for ages enjoying the cocktails & littering in the bar, trying to make our money back on the peanuts!!!!
Then we went over to China Town from here... I LOVE CHINATOWN...... its so cute & friendly, the markets are really cute offering all kind of tat!!
I think after here we went home... Day two we woke up to sun!! Yesss... Wish we would have done everything we did the day before today, the weather was amazing. we strolled Over to Orchard Road, another Lovely part of the city.. but far too many lovely shops selling good priced clothes!! Gutted were so skint!!!!! so we got the train to Clarkes Quay - by the river & took a Bum Boat trip on the river to take in the sights.
After the boat trip we went to a riverside restaurant & had a few drinks before dinner, it was happy hour..... This was lovely & the views were awesome too.
Day 3 the weather was miserable again, so decided to start packing.... this took most of the morning, eventually we ventured out of our pit & went for some food in one of the local markets. Today we hung around China town for the full day & had a very cheap day!! & hung around the River edge when it got dark for the lovely views.
I Have really enjoyed Singapore, think its a fab city - but HATE Little india - the area we stayed!!! so if your planning to go: DONT STAY THERE!!!
Anyway time to board our flight to the Nam!!! So will get the pics on ASAP for singapore. - And if i've missed anything out i will add to it.....
Love you all & Thanks for the msgs - keep them coming!!!
love J & L xxxxxx
