Well guys, as you know I made the slightly impulsive decision to quit my job and leave Sydney for a few weeks to visit Western Australia. Now, I know from experience that my best holidays have been when I decide to go away on a whim (think America with Woots!). One of the girls I have been living with in Sydney, Brigid, was planning on flying to Perth and then doing a tour up the west coast to Broome and then back again. The tour was two weeks long, so I decided to do it with her and have a few days in Perth before flying back to Sydney.
The west coast was beautiful, the most stunning beaches I have ever seen. I can't believe so many people come to Australia and completely miss out on it! Our tour group was absolutely fantastic and we had a brilliant time with them, which was good since there was a lot of driving (WA is the biggest state in Oz). Will show you all the stuff I did in my pics.
Got back to Perth and decided to go to a hostel in a town just outside the city called Fremantle. Two Bristol girls we met on the tour, Vanya and Nikki, had been staying there before the tour and were heading back so we tagged along with them. Fremantle is my new favourite place and I am devestated to be leaving today. Its a really small town with loads of cafe's, bars, restaurants, funky shops, beautiful beach and just a really nice relaxed vibe about it. The last few days have been some of the best I've had during my time away...have been spending days on the beach or sitting in cafe's and the evenings out with the girls from the tour and other people at the hostel. I've been really lucky to meet some lovely people, a lot of whom are heading to Sydney for Christmas and New Year so I'm hoping to see them all again.
One of the guys from the hostel has just moved into his own place, he's just got residancy here, so we all went to a BBQ at his last night, really cool way to end my little trip to WA.
As always I'm missing you all loads and wish you could be here to share my adventures with me! Looking forward to Christmas in Sydney, which will no doubt be a two week bender, but it won't be the same without cold weather and Christmas Eve in the Chequers!! Will someone promise to look after my little sister when she inevitably gets wasted...and please keep her away from James Crawford! Ha ha!
Lots of love Jen
