Day 1:- Left Lac-Saint-Joseph this morning and headed to Quebec City…en route we stopped at a Sugar Shack and got to learn all about how Maple Syrup was made and it was fascinating, I love a bit of maple syrup and I have more than indulged whilst being in Canada…but I mean you've gotta haven't ya?? We had a traditional meal and there was a man with n accordion and we had these wooden spoon things…..it was hilarious ….lots of fun and yummy food, what more can you ask for.
Arriving into Quebec City, we went on a little city tour with a local woman named Susan and it was interesting learning all about Quebec and seeing where I can go tomorrow……well the day started well but ya know me I love a good Hospital visit and yes thats where I ended up, I got bitten AGAIN and Im not messing it went the size of my whole thigh…..so yeh thats where I ended up….had to pay - but Im not disclosing the amount cos its a shocker…but hey thats what travel insurance is for after all…..so after spending my first evening in Quebec at the Hospital - I am ready for a new day tomorrow - a day at leisure to explore the city. So yeh I got bitten whilst watching for bears….but FYI it wasn't a bear haha it was a mozzie/spider, thankfully it wasn't infected and Im going to be ok…
Day 2:- So todays a new day….I am getting my medication and I am not letting this monster of a bite ruin the rest of my stay!! Its absolutely lashing down…..Canada weather has been pretty poor….whilst there is a heat wave back home - typical haha! Anyways I have my pac-a-mac so off I go, Quebec is so quaint and pretty…it really is a lovely place, walked the legs off myself as always. I had a crepe for lunch with salad - ya know you've gotta get into the french-canadian spirit after all…..lots of little bistros and cafes and cobbled street and beautiful buildings……and Im getting alright at this french malarky....well as well as a scouser can do with a french phrase book haha!! BONJOURRR. Finally the sun came out, and it was much welcomed. Lovely man playing piano up the top and it was nice to just stand and watch him play…..it does make me laugh seeing the irish and british pubs next to each other but I did avoid them, no offence but Im in Quebec, I want to absorb the culture and soak it all up…so french and canadian all the way for me.
Hotel Manior Victoria is a lovely hotel in a great locations
Funniest thing ever "Chez McDonalds" - seriously??
Quebec you have been beautiful…thank you!
Plus Im proud of myself for at least trying to speak some french….
