Hello, sorry its been a while, we have done so much since Darwin and our plans have changed dramatically its mad. We really had a great time on our tour from Perth to darwin, it really was worth every penny. When we left Broome it was ashame saying goodbye to our crazy tour guide Cleegy and some of the others but there was 6 of us going on futher into the tropics and the real outback oz heat we headed through the Kimberly region towards Derby the oldest town in the Kimberly, crossing the Fitzroy river we stopped to see the Boab prison tree, which is an extremely religious site for the aboriginals, its a funny looking tree that is 3000 years old and apparently was turned upside down because it was an arrogent and naughty tree! hmmm....... anyway afrer 400km we set up our camp at Windjana Gorge, walking through the gorge was amazing its 3.5km long , we were inches away from fresh water crocadiles and luckily this type dont eat us!!! After anight in our swags and finding frogs in the toilet, we went to Tunnel Creek, a 750m long cave which was once a hide out for the aboriginals, spotting crocs and bats with our torches and walking through musky water in the dark was great. 240km on to bells gorge, we sat and relaxed by the beautiful water falls, its really nice how you get to no everyone so well, i (jenny) was always jumping off the rocks into the water with another guy, it got scary at times and from heghts of about 8-10m.
Stopping at the roadhouses in the middle of nowhere, and stopping for cool downs at gorges,to swing off rope swings and trek through the outback, was so good, it was an on going adventure, at Barnett river gorge some of us swam for about 20mins to see 16000 yrs old aboriginal art, its really interesting but i enjoyed fun part of getting there, its weird that to see anything in Australia you have to go through so much to get there, either hard core treking through 40 degrees or driving 100's of km. We then spent the night miles from any civilisation, made a camp fire, and enjoyed the noises of wild animals and the clear sky of stars, until a lady got bitten by a snake...... we tryed to find it so we knew how dangerous the bite was but it had long gone!! The lady had to be .................. have to leave you there sorry gotta go get drunk by the river!!!
