The 4 Day train journey!
This was our longest train journey on the trans-sib part of our adventure. We boarded at Mosow train station at 23:55!! We had a long walk as we were in carraige 1 at the front of the train. We were in a four birth sleeper this time, but with only one other passager, Guy who was English. We slept well to wake up with beautiful scenery around the train.
The next few days passed very quickly playing cards and stretching our legs every few hours when the train stop in towns along the way. In the evenings we sampled the dinning car food and played cards. The food was ok and not to expensive but there was a lack of choice.
On the last day we manged to hunt down the only shower on the train which after 3 days was very refreshing even if it was not very powerful and cost 100 rubles! The scenery slowly changed as we slipped into Aisa from Europe. One of the funniest parts of the journey was the goods that where being sold on the platforms at each little shop. These ranged from fruit and bread to chandeliers and 2ft vases!
On the last night Jen did not manage to sleep to well with the panic of missing the stop(even if it was the last one) and also because of the banging and shunting of the train. We woke up to find the train was over 2 hours late which despite it best efforts it never managed to catch up!
