Woke up early on the bus by 5:45. We drove down the eastern coast and saw the change of scenery from scrub brush to lush greenery, Starting to peeks of w the island water way. Sugar Cain is everywhere. I never knew that Australia was the second largest producer of sugar Cain in the world, nuts. We came into Townsville, Which is this amazing little backpacker merged with a super high end ritzy beach town. Mansions line the hillside, while hostels dominate the streets. Went for a quick bit of shopping for supplies. Went to the marina and got on our fairy for the island, while the whit Sundays 2 day sailors headed off for their boats. On the way out we saw them on their ships, and I have never been more happy with a decision as I was not to take that sail. The boats were tiny, and there was like no deck space. We were all laughing as we waved them off from our fairy. There were about 11 of us who went to the island, and let me tell you, best $300 I didn't spend. We were literally on a island to our selves the resort is the island. 5 star, two pools on either side, tons of bars and restaurants. Snorkeling, sea kayaking, out door movie theater, put put golf, full buffet breakfast and dinner. The rooms were by far the best we've stayed in the whole trip. The first night we were there all the people from the new group that had joined on came to our room and we had pre dinner drinks together and all finally got to know each other, which was really nice, since it had sort of had a us and them feel since the start of the second leg of the tour. But we all hung around the pool and hit it off great.
