We're now in Valparaiso, Chile. We flew into Santiago on Tuesday which is surrounded by the Andes and engulfed in smog. In fact it is so smoggy that the schoolkids never do sports at school and the elderly don't go out on some days. Anyway we will be back there a few times on our trip as we have to go through it for Easter Island, New Zealand etc. So yesterday we jumped on a coach and came two hours to another town. Valpairaso is unique as it is built on the side...

Well we have been back in Buenos Aires for one night only.....had to come back via here to go to Santiago, Chile where we are headed in a couple of hours. We spent our last day going to see La Boca which is an area of town where all the houses are painted in really bright colours and there are dancers everywhere- 4 people in our hostel had been robbed at gunpoint there last week so we didn´t go much off the beaten track but wandered up the main streets and stop...

Today it's very heavy sleet here- not sure of our plans yet but yesterday we had another fantastic day. We got up before sunrise ( that only means 8am!) to walk into town and get the bus to the national park. When we got to the buses there was a big arguement between the drivers and they all pointed to each other's.
