Hello Hello Hello. Guess what Jo's just done. A Buuuuunnnnnggggeeee jump! Did the highest one in the southern hemisphere,, it's called the Nevis, it's 440ft above the Nevis River. You do it from a sort of cable car-it's amazing. I loved it! Loved it so much so that me and my mate then went and did another from the Ledge which is looking over Queenstown, it's amazing as well, there anything goes- I did a backwards jump, my friend (Phil who i met in Newquay a year or so ago and have been travelling around the South island with),he used to work at the jump so the people there let him drop me off! It's a great feeling, it doesn't jolt at all- ask dad-he did one too, he made it look easy, loved it so much he's doing another one tomorrow, as are Zo and Jakey. Enough about bungys, more to our travels. OOO just thought you can check out the piccies on www.AJHackett.com type in numbers AJHL702094966910 to AJ702094966912, or wait till we get back and we can show you the piccies and the videos.
HAd a quick stop over in Sydney and (not extravagant at all) brought a car for when we get back over to Australia, we'll be needing one to travel around in but buying it was abit of a nightmare but atleast it's all sorted now so when we get back we can just go. Then off to the airport to catch our flight to NewZealand. When we were checking in the checking in lady asked if another Blount was checking in with us, we said 'no' and just thought someone else had the same surname as us-coincidence. But then it clicked that it might be Dad, so we asked if two mischevious Hertzog's were on our flight as well, guess what-yep dad, Zo and Jake had booked into our flight to suprize us, in the end it was us suprizing them as we hid from them in the airport and jumped out on them, the ladies in the shop thought we were mad-either that or dodgy. It was so nice to see them, so nice but so bizarre.
Now to Newzealand, i would say sunny but it was a bit wet and windy when we arrived-and they call this summer! We hung around Christchurch for a couple of days, where dad and Zo brought a camper van -Matilda (as we've called her, she's a real runner, me and Bridgey have both driven her, and she's pink! yey). We also met up with Phil who is travelling with us, for his sins, bless him, he's a star. We first headed to Kiakora where we tried to go whale watching but it was too windy and wet, we're hoping to stop off on the way back up. We saw lots of seals there though and we watched dolphins juggling whilst we enjoyed our museli.
Then we slowly travelled up along the east coast to Nelson, the scenery on the way up was just beautiful, it looks just like the picture. Nelson was lovely, we think you should move there nan, we have found the perfect place for the Stanway Road bunch to move to, the weathers nice there all year round, not too hot and lots of nice of nice walks for aunty to go on. Me, Bridgey and Phil then drove onto Ruby Bay for a night in the camper, then caught back up with the troops and made our way upto Abel Tasman. Abel Tasman was beautiful, very lush, we got to see it from a different angle-we kayaked around the bays for two days (30Km, 30Km!!!), spent the night on board a seaboat and swam in icy cold water, we had a jet boat ride back as well-that was fun, fun and fast!
Where to next i hear you cry. well, well, well....the epic adventures admirally ventured on, climbing through the wildness until they came to a deserted little town where the little town folk (who may we add were lovely, and not really that little) were making sandsculptures and using natural materials which they found on the beach. So we decided to join in the fun and made a giant seahorse, it was pretty good seen as we only had an hour to create our masterpiece and they had all day. Unfortunately we didn't win any prizes, but Jo say's it's the taking part that counts. The b*****s, we should have won.haha.
Afterwards we shot off (driving sensibly at all times ofcourse) to see the magnificant Fox and Franz Josef glaciers, they are huge. We got really close to them, alittle too close maybe, a huge bit of ice broke off, making us jump and reminding us of the power of nature. They were fantastic. Then we headed through the mountainside to Phil's hometown-Queenstown. Him and his housemates are putting us up for a few days and making us feel very welcome and very clean. Brigey, dad and Zo went to see some of the places where Lord of the Rings was filmed which was very very beautiful, we didn't see legless and aragorn i'm afraid Kate.
We'ld better go before we loose the plot completely, as it's almost midnight here and we might turn into pumpkins if we don't go to bed soon.
Love always. Take care, be safe and don't do anything stupid-like bungy jumping.
Lots of love the Jellybellies.XXX
