Mum's been and gone and it has flown by. We got alittle emotional even meeting her at the airport, we made banners for her and Mark (well hardly banners especially in comparison to some of the ones people were holding up-just to forwarn you we want banners and lots of the, oh and baloons and party poppers but i don't know if they'll allow them at the airport). We spent the first few days in a nice apartment in Melbourne, where we had to say a sad farewell to Eric (we cooked him his favourite-Sheperds pie and watched Braveheart together which was nice), we've taught him well he brought us both a beautiful boquet of flowers (which we even managed to take on the plane to Sydney). Spending time with Mum and Mark was really nice, we introduced them to the hustle and bustle of Queen Victoria market where we brought yummy things for our picinc along the Great Ocean road. Bridgey even tried a baby octopus, mmmm. He hadn't gone along and we bumped into him again (Eric that is), so we all went for a coffee and he got to tell mum how wonderful we are. The nect day we went along the Great Ocean Road (it's beautiful-where they film all the Mercedes Benz ads etc) and finally saw a Koala bear, Bridgey has had us searching every ecalyptus tree since we arrived in Australia. On the last day we went a walk along the banks of the Yarra (the river that runs through the centre of Melbourne), it's beautiful, it's all autumnal and suprisingly warm-the ideal autumn day. We saw masses of joggers, we'll join them when we get back. We also checked out an art gallery where we saw everything from skateboard art (paintings on the back of skateboards-some really good ones) to pre 19th centuary.
Then back to Sydney (aren't we jet setters-we are back packing honest!), where we spent sometime at the Opera house and near Sydney Harbour bridge, we also introduced mum and Mark to the less glamerous side of Sydney aka Kings Cross, ooo and an amazing icecream place which we went into last time we were in Sydney, eyed up the icecreams but resisted, this time the devil got the better of us and we tried lime icecream, coconut and lychee, applepie and yoghurt icecrea; the coconut and lychee was the winner. We also took a harbour ferry over to Manly beach where the beautiful people hang out, obviously we fitted right in.haha. Mum and Mark also went to see the ballet at the opera house which i think they really enjoyed. We were all going to go but unfortunately Bridgey was on deaths door (not quite, but close enough-she had bad tonsilitous) so Florence aka Josie Posie nursed her back to health and acted as general slave.
Then we had to say a sad farewell to mumsy before heading back to Kingscross for a day or two before our return to Melbourne. We're currently house hunting and Bridgey has a job interview on friday as a health care assistant so wish her luck.
Take care for now, send us emails, we love them!
lots of love the jellybellies (soon to be jelly babies with super six packs-that's if the jogging in Melbourne comes off).XXXXXX
