Well, I've now been in Madrid for over a month! Yesterday was our first Model UN conference with our students. Starting up the new Global Classrooms Model UN program is one of the biggest responsibilities of the Secondary school Fulbright TA's. It was really crazy trying to get all of our students comfortable with public speaking, a strange topic (land mine ban treaties), and the entire Model UN thing, which I'm still a little hazy on, but it went prety well!
I'm updating this site with photos that I've taken since my arrival one month ago, although I have only used my camera phone. I bought it here and it takes relatively good pictures. As soon as I start remembering to take my real camera, the quality here will improve, but for now, see what my camera phone can do!
I've finally applied for my residence card so that I can legally stay here longer than a month, and we're putting the finishing touches on the apartment. I really live here! The novelty hasn't quite worn off yet, though, and I continue to happily explore as many neighborhoods as I can. Although I'm no longer as excited by my ridiculously long morning commute. Still, the people and places, other than Metro stations, continue to charm and enthrall me, and I hope I can document at least some of that on this site.
Hope all of you are doing well! Miss you tons :)
